STORIES + KIND WORDS FROM CLIENTS

Brooke Louvier.jpg

"When I decided to have a homebirth, I knew I wanted a midwife who would give me the respect and space to birth how I wanted without too much intervention. Kelsi was amazing from the very start! I appreciated that she always asked my permission before doing anything and never assumed or spoke in a condescending way. I felt empowered and encouraged. I wish everyone could experience a pregnancy and birth with someone who is so kind and professional, and 100% supports you the way Kelsi does! I was able to have my dream home birth for my final baby, and she helped make it happen."

“Kelsi was our midwife for our daughter Nora and we are so glad she was with us through the prenatal, delivery, and postpartum stages. The care we received was exceptional.

When we sought out a midwife, we knew we wanted someone who was qualified, supportive of our desires for a natural birth, and sensitive to worries and questions that we as first time parents have. Kelsi was all of these things and so much more than we could’ve imagined. She was such a gentle, warm, and loving person that I felt completely safe and heard throughout my care. She was thorough in her exams and answers to questions. She was patient and I never felt rushed to make a decision. I always felt supported in the choices I made.

When I had high blood pressure, she was calm and came with us to be transferred to the hospital. I believe I was able to have a natural vaginal birth in the hospital without pain medications because I knew I was well supported by her. Even though she was not the one to deliver my baby, having her assist and support me during my labor and delivery was essential because she was the person who knew me, my body, and my baby best.”

"From go, I knew you were the midwife for me (it was the ease, confidence and strength you project when you walk into a new home to meet an expecting family, and the hugs after our meeting!). Being pregnant for the first time is a delicate thing. Daniel and I were careful to think about all of our options ad nauseum and we kept coming back to this idea of being accountable for our health and the health of our baby as a key tenant of our beliefs. We knew that the informed decisions midwifery care encouraged us to make were going to lead us to an intuitive place of wellbeing and safety. And we knew working with you meant we were going to be heard and respected as we crossed the threshold of parenthood.

While I did not have a home birth, I had the most natural and empowering adventure into motherhood. I made all the decisions with the best information and guidance possible, with a midwife who went way above and beyond to get my whole brand new family into each other’s arms safely. She collaborated beautifully with hospital staff, my doula, and my husband to make sure my baby and I were perfectly safe and healthy in a very vulnerable moment for me."

"Mary and Kelsi, thank you for providing such personal, intuitive, and empowering care throughout the entire pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum period. The love and care that you put into your work is obvious, and I will always look back on this entire experience with gratefulness and joy."

"Kelsi showed my partner and I so much warmth, love, and respect throughout our pregnancy. Always bringing to light things I wouldn’t have thought to think about, helping us put intention into the things we shared were important, and always listening and honoring- even as a world pandemic set in. During labor, Kelsi showed steadfast support and the most loving calm, especially when things were harder than I’d ever imagined they could be. Our birth was beautiful, and when our postpartum was more challenging than expected- Kelsi was right there with us, helping navigate a difficult breastfeeding journey and pretty tough emotions. She is incredibly wise, has endless ideas for tackling and honoring things that arise, and at every stage helped us to feel empowered. She truly meets clients where they are.

I am a midwife myself, and I can very proudly boast that Kelsi Hines was who I chose to be mine, and I’ll do it again! She’s the cream of the crop (and the daughter of a dairy farmer). "
